About Me

Hello! My name is Karina, and I’m an artist.
Art has always been a significant part of my life. I find inspiration mainly in people and their stories, as well as in my own experiences, hopes and dreams. I also enjoy creating landscapes. There’s something about it that brings me peace..

My journey began as a little girl. I always enjoyed drawing. I remember paying close attention to detail and staring at the beautiful paintings hanging on my Grandma’s home. I often pictured stories in my head and tried recreating those images on paper. I love to explore themes of serenity and themes that evoke emotion.

I had never really pictured myself as a professional artist, but one day something changed. I was in high school, and one of my Dad’s friends commissioned me to do a drawing for him. That made me realize that maybe I had something in me. Maybe my hobby could become my career. That’s quite something special.

After high school, I went to college and took some art classes, where I learned to use different media and where I had the opportunity to practice more. It was in college where I drew with charcoal for the first time. It was there where I painted for the first time. I grew up in a really small town where we didn’t have access to art supplies. But I remember watching Bob Ross on TV, and how I was mesmerized by his creations. I remember thinking “I want to do that”.

I believe that art is a powerful form of communication, and I strive to connect with my audience through every piece I create.
